Issue:
Icon points to wrong database, property data appears to be out of date, color scheme is different than expect, database caption does not display Live, etc.
Resolution:
The Live database is our working data. It shares web server code with all databases except Temp.
The DailyTest is a test database restored automatically ever morning from the previous night's data. The caption at the top right of the Voyager dashboard shows the database name and restore date.
The Test database is restored manually when needed for specific projects or troubleshooting. The caption at the top right of the Voyager dashboard shows the database name and restore date.
The Temp database is the most unique. It has its own web server and is used primarily for testing upgrades and web server level patches.
If you log into DailyTest first, then close the Voyager window, you are still logged into DailyTest even though you don't have Voyager open. This is because the session is cookie based. When you click a different Voyager icon other than Temp, you will be logged back into DailyTest regardless of which icon you use. So, any time you change databases, you must Sign Out/Log Out from within Voyager before using a different Voyager icon in YardiOne.
A good rule of thumb is to always look for the caption at the top right of the Voyager dashboard to confirm you are in the correct database!
